Figure Drawing 1

Description

Ok so I finally did some figure drawing a couple weeks ago, they were more quicker sketches, I'm new at all this. This is my second time here doing this and I got to work on one pose for the whole session, I need to do it much more, it can only make me a better artist. Some mistakes are glaring, overall I'm ok with how it turned out. I want to try charcoal next time, the hair and some facial features is charcoal on this one. I'm just still a little afraid to dive in completely and lay down super dark shadows, I work them over and over. Not the best way to do it. I think the more I do it the more confident I'll get and I won't be afraid of the pencils.
It was really amazing watching how others work, some worked it to a finished drawing piece by piece instead of laying down structure first. Some layed down HEAVY doses of charcoal, smeared it all over the place making the dark shadows stick out then went in with eraser and popped the highlights out. really amazing to see how confident some artists are.
I'll throw a mature content label on this for those that might not want to see it.
