This is made of win! I love the old school vibe to it. Reminds me of flipping through the art books rrrgrl-grr-ahem years ago. :D

back on that copic thread... is paper quality a factor? is there a better paper to use? because I used to draw on just plain old cardstock and seemed like it would suck up the ink pretty quick, especially with the lighter shades. Also, do you lay down your lightest layer first? like around the figure and then move outward? layering darker on top of that? I also find that if I get too close to inked lines the copic bleeds some of the color out. Again, a paper issue you think?

You don't have to answer any of these really. I imagine you're pretty busy - but if you get a chance...

thanks - love your work.

I'm not Ryan Ottley, but I can give you a couple tips about paper :]]

The best paper I've ever worked on is definitely copic paper, which you can buy here: [link]

It's kind of expensive though and you don't really get a whole lot (for me it's enough because I usually only use like... half a sheet.)

If that's too much of a hassle, you can go to your local art store like michaels and buy a book of Bristol Board (smooth NOT VELLUM). A lot of artists use it for markers. It's really great. It bleeds a little, but not a whole lot. Not as good as copic paper, but leagues ahead of plain old cardstock.
Mostly you're looking for something nice and smooth that will absorb a fair amount of ink and doesn't bleed~

Hey that's great. Thanks for the tips - I'll definitely check out the Bristol Board.
